Three Kings Day at Lights in the Parkway

Three Kings Day at Lights in the Parkway
Celebrate Three Kings Day in Allentown!

Join us on Monday, January 6, 2025 from 5:30-10pm, for a celebration of Three Kings Day, a tradition rich in cultural and religious significance. Known as Epiphany or Theophany, this Christian feast commemorates the revelation of God through His Son, Jesus Christ, and marks the end of the festive "12 Days of Christmas." From Spain to Chile to Mexico, it honors the journey of the Three Wise Men—Gaspar, Melchior, and Balthazar—to present gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh to baby Jesus. In Puerto Rico and other Latin American countries, before children go to sleep on January 5, they leave a box with hay under their beds so the kings will leave good presents.

The event in Allentown includes:
  • Live Nativity Scene: Featuring a camel and sheep courtesy of Peaceable Kingdom Petting Zoo.
  • Music & Entertainment: Enjoy music by La Mega and crown giveaways to add to the festivities.
  • Gifts & Treats: Courtesy of Rebolcones Jeep Club and Las Motos Mamis, kids will receive tickets redeemable for toys and a special raffle prize (while supplies last).
  • Local Vendors: Delight in delicious food like tamales, hot dogs, pastelillos, hot chocolate, and more from ICDI, Boris Cake, and other local favorites.
  • Parranda Processional: Experience the traditional Puerto Rican caroling style with a touch of holiday magic, featuring Jeeps and hay barrels.
  • Shuttle Service: Courtesy of La Mega Radio, free shuttles will run from the Fire Academy parking lot at 1902 Lehigh Street to the Lights entrance for your convenience. Special thanks to the Allentown Fire Department for allowing use of their lot for this event!
