Celebrate Juneteenth in Allentown!
Join the City of Allentown for a powerful and exciting Juneteenth Celebration featuring a flag raising ceremony, community celebration, and competitive basketball and flag football tournaments across multiple locations.
Juneteenth is the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States — and Allentown is proud to honor its history, culture, and significance with a weekend full of unity, sports, and celebration.
Juneteenth Flag Raising Ceremony
Location: City Hall
Date: Friday, June 19
Time: 12:00 PM
Allentown will hold a ceremonial flag raising at City Hall at noon to officially commemorate Juneteenth. Community members are invited to attend as we gather in reflection and celebration.
Flag Football Tournaments
Location: J. Birney Crum Stadium
Date: Sunday, June 7 (Rain or Shine)
Time: 9:00 AM – 8:00 PM
Teams will compete throughout the day in an exciting showcase of skill, teamwork, and community spirit at one of the city’s premier athletic venues.

Dates: Friday, June 19 – Sunday, June 21

Friday, June 19: 4:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Saturday, June 20: 8:00 AM – 9:00 PM
Sunday, June 21: 8:00 AM – 9:00 PM

Enjoy a full day of live entertainment, music and cultural performances, food vendors, local businesses and community vendors, family-friendly activities, and a celebration of culture, history, and unity.
Note: Vendors must provide Certificate of insurance (COI) in order to vend.
