The City of Allentown Parks & Recreation invites the community to celebrate the 112th Annual Romper Day, one of Allentown's longest-running summer traditions!

This year's celebration will highlight the theme of America 250, bringing together the history, traditions, and community spirit that have made Romper Day a special part of Allentown for more than a century.
Join us for an evening of performances, games, music, track events, and beloved Romper Day traditions including the Maypole Dance & Weave and the Flag Drill. The celebration will feature a mix of traditional songs and today's music while honoring the past and celebrating the next generation of Playground Program participants.
The 2026 Summer Playground Program locations participating in this year's celebration include Andre Reed (Irving) Park, Bucky Boyle Park, Clyde Bosket Sr. Park, Ithaca Playlot, Jordan Park, Keck Park, Percy Ruhe Park, Roosevelt Park, Trout Creek West, Walden Terrace Playlot, Dodd Elementary, Jackson/Ramos Elementary, Muhlenberg Elementary, Ritter Elementary, Union Terrace, Alliance Hall, River Crossing YMCA, and the Salvation Army.
As we celebrate the 112th year, all former Playground Program participants, instructors, supervisors, and staff are invited to return and join us on the field for the traditional Maypole Dance & Weave and Flag Drill as we celebrate generations of memories and the lasting impact of the Playground Program.
Come out, bring your family and friends, and be part of this historic Allentown tradition!
